"Review of Cradle of Rome
- Cradle of Rome --For the Glory of Rome! I started
Cradle of Rome with expectations that "here we go again
yet another match three." That's where I was wrong, Cradle
of Rome has a strange addiction, kind of like mixing Milk with
Pepsi. It should'nt be so good but yet you keep coming back
for more. I always fall for history game, especially Egyptian,
Greece and Roman history, I have tried them all, even the more
complex simulatins, but I found that Cradle of Rome held up
against the best. The powerups are useful and fun, but the
good thing about the Cradle of Rome is the feeling of building
an empire without micromanagement of standard RTS/RPG games,
It's simplier buy very satisfying. I found the cartoony graphics
appealing and loved the feeling that you're actually doing
something, building a momument, buildings, or rescuing animals.
There are entertaining comical anecdotes and interesting historical
facts. I'll be playing it again and again--I love it."-

"Review of Cradle of Rome
- Cradle of Rome is Addicticus Maximus. This is not
just match three, this is Empire building!. You use strategy, speed
and cunning to gather food, gold and supplies to feed your
citizens and help Rome grow. The music and graphics are stunning-
the city fountain is mesmerising, it seems to lift out of
the centre- watch it for a while and see what I mean. The
bonuses are a little different, building up as you progress, increasing
your resources and wealth. You can save bonuses from level
to level, continue to make matches whilst combos happen all
over the board. Cool crashing and exploding sounds and viz
effects, like lightning, add to the feeling of real acomplishment
at the end of each level. Houses and building which you buy
with supplies become increasingly expensive so its a real
incentive to keep matching and smashing your way through
the levels to see what comes next. You pass through each
stage to a fanfare of music and fireworks, your citizen status
increases from Peasant to preist to merchant and so on. Last
game as good as this, for me, was Realms
of Gold. I've got to go now- My people and my Empire
await me!" - Citizen of Rome
"Review of Cradle of Rome
- Cradle of Rome: All Hail Caesar. What a magnificent
game! Yes, it is a match 3 type game, but nothing like the
rest. You are slowly re-building the ancient city of Rome,
as you progress through the levels. Each building you buy,
gives you a new power up, and source for either food, gold,
wood, etc, as each building requires a certain amount of
each for purchase. It's not an easy game either, it's a definite
challenge, with around 100 levels of addicting game-play,
and you are on a clock, the faster you finish, the bigger
the bonus! Once you've reached Emperor status and have completed
re-building Rome, you are given the chance to visit Olympus,
hence, giving you several more levels to complete, and here
is where it gets harder. If you lose all of your lives during
these levels, you will need to start off at the last of the
five Eras and re-purchase everything from that Era all over
again. It's challenging, fun, and very rewarding. Big thumbs
up and a Hail Caesar! " - Emperor at Last!
"Review of Cradle of Rome
- Cradle of Rome is Addicting... Oh yeah, this game
is really, really, really addicting. Once again, at first
I thought it was a simple match-three shape match game. I
started to play it and then instantly got hooked. It is easy
to play, it has cool powerup's, and the graphics are very
colorful. The idea of having to build your own Rome also added
to the challenge. It gets very hard, very fast but never
loses it great gameplay value. Surely Cradle of Rome will
become one of the classic games." - Georgio
"Review of Cradle of Rome
- Cradle of Rome Really Put Me in Rome Heaven. I
bought this game and thought, oh no not a 'kind-a-bejeweled-game'!
But it's very different. You earn new kind of blocks to swap
with each other, and that's fun! Beside your score, you have
to gather recources. When you collapse some wood-like-blocks,
you get more lumber for it. The same with food and gold/silver
coins. With the recources you've earned you can buy some
buildings to enhance your civilisation more and more. While
doing that you get new blocks and new reacources to gather.
A real fun game for the Bejeweled-kind-addicted, which I
am NOT, of course, but then I did really like this one." -

game, produced like a movie. The gameplay is perfect and
the animation is funny." - Little Match Girl
"Review of Cradle of Rome
- Cradle of Rome is the best match-three game ever!
*Standing ovation* At first I thought it's just a match-three
game. I was attracted by the title and the description, but
wasn't really convinced when I saw the screen shots, but
I've always had passion for history especially the European
history. When I began playing I discovered that Cradle of
Rome was different--This game doesn't just need matching,
but you should think of what to match! Every item is an ingredient
to buying structures for you to build a civilization. The
power-ups are great and different from each other. Cradle
of Rome always has a new challenge but there are levels that
can just let you sit back and match away. Even my mom was
hooked, and she's not even into computer games aside from
Bookworm. So for those of you who want challenges and logical
thinking, this game's for you. Don't just try it, buy it
and limber up your brain.." - Julius
