Souvenirs at the Khan el Khalili

The Khan el Khalili has antique shops as well as souvenir shops--not antiquities, in this case, but antiques from colonial houses and older souvenirs left from other seasons. Vintage Shops as they are sometimes called.

These shops are great fun to wander about and fossik for little treasures. Some items are broken, but most are just not the latest fashion, and if you are looking for lamps, this particular shop is a good place to look.

The shop is Hisham Djemba's Products and it is located near the Salehia Gate.

Note: The Copper Box, ushabti amulets and camel all disappeared while the DHL shippment was making it's way to Australia. DHL reimbursed me, but next time I will just take the extra luggage charges!

But what did make it through in the shipment was a lovely set of blue resin canopic jars, which are currently sitting on My book shelf.
